Smyths toy chain was founded in Ireland more than thirty years ago and is now a leading player in the toys and baby products sector, with over 200 locations in Europe. Creating and designing eye-catching effective backgrounds and themes for each category of toys was the main achievement for this yearly catalogue. While using quite a gridded structure for each page, creating a scene for the toys was also important. With the combination of many images and textures photoshopped into making one whole background, the alignment of text and the co-ordination of colour is what gives each page their own sense of personality, life and vibrancy.
